I had the opportunity to visit the Dominican Republic ( DR ) recently and what started out as a good little story is changing into a whole lot more; a premier Golf Destination in the World... The Caribbean Islands. I feel like the Columbus of the golf world and may not to look much further then this very Island.

The big story beside the great golf and wonderful accommodations are the Dominicans and their real altitude . Bordering on a a tropical forest and nature preserve the course and people make you feel at home. The course is a beauty and as challenging as they come. It definitely makes you think about each shot as you play the course. Guavaberry Golf and Country Club is as tempting as the fruit it is named after. The lush beauty of the tropical native foliage, coral placement or the use of water adds to its distinctive challenge each time the sea breaze kicks up on each hole.. I know why the golf Gods steered Columbus to this special place on December 5th, 1492....
